Meet the Gals who make Mercantile Gatherings come to life

Fay Stanfield
Owner

Born and raised in Willard Ohio, Fay Stanfield is founder of Mercantile Gatherings Magazine. She is married to the love of her life, David who is a Conductor for the railroad.    CHOO CHOO, Together they have 4 children; 3 boys and 1 girl.    Her oldest is in the military and is serving our country and makeing his Mama Proud.
She is the grandma of 2 grandsons Croix and Parker and 1 granddaughter Paiten.

Fay has always had a creative side to her. Her passion to stay home, raise & enjoy her children, she began doing craft shows and fairs to earn extra income for the family.    Little did she know that her crafting side would branch out into owner of a Magazine.

In 1998 Fay began selling her wood patterns under the name of Country Past Thymes. After her kids were pretty much grown she then got a job at Herald Printing where she has learned to print nationwide magazines, and printing material for many companies, Mary Engle bright included.

Fay’s heart still tugged for crafting and she wanted a way for crafters to be able to share their talents with the world and to be able to afford to market their ideas.

Her love for primitives and wanting to see more of it in magazines gave her the idea of starting her own Magazine.
She wanted to help the small crafters; designers, artists and those who cant afford to advertise in the high market magazines. She knew what advertising does for a business and the cost is unreal so she talked with her boss to create an affordable Magazine.

She heard about Tiffany Carnal of Primitive Blessings by Twigs and Sprigs and called her up and asked her to join her in this adventure.    Together Fay and Tiffany have worked to bring Mercantile Gatherings to life.

Tiffany Wigginton Carnal (Twigs)
Of Primitive Blessings by Twigs n Sprigs
Editor

Born & raised in the hills of Kentucky, Tiffany Wigginton Carnal (Twigs).    Has been doodling from the time she was a small child in a cellar room her parents made as her studio. From her early years of reading “The Little House”, she knew she wanted to write & be an artist like her Great Grandmother.

In the early 90’s Twigs started creating her designs, which eventually lead to designing her own Primitive pattern line, stationery, rubber stamps, graphics & tinwork.

I literally draw every day, I get inspired by the things I love that are around me.    I have worked at surrounding myself with the primitives that I love.    I have drawn for many companies now and hope to share my talents with others as well..

Tiffany is the editor of Mercantile Gatherings,    which she is having a wonderful time writing about other artists and visiting shops and homes to share with the world.

After her husband retired from the Marine Corps, they moved back where the bluegrass grows & live in an old 1800’s farmhouse situated in the middle of a little country town in Kentucky reminiscent of Mayberry.
God has blessed them with 4 beautiful, talented, & creative children.

In 2003 The Carnal’s purchased & renovated an Olde General store where Tiffany designs most of her items she sells & teaches her primitive style designs to local crafters.
